How much does an account cost?

The basic service is 100% FREE OF CHARGE.  It is the original free email service for residents of Lanzarote and has no setup fees, no monthly bills, just excellent service delivered free of charge! 

Why are we doing this?

We have as our mission to become the leading provider of Internet Services for Lanzarote.  This service allows us to introduce residents to our services - we hope that once you have tried our mail services you may be interested in an account upgrade or a web site for your business or one of our other services - which we will tell you about from time to time.

How can we afford to just give this service away?

We own our software platforms and do not pay third parties any fees for any of the services we provide.  We host our network at a leading UK Data Centre and we have to pay for this anyway to provide our other services (such as web site hosting).  Giving the service away ensures a rapid uptake of our services and exposes potential customers to our other services and products.  We treat it as a marketing expense.

Can I access my mail using Microsoft Outlook?

The standard I Live In Lanzarote service is geared towards web based email access.  You can upgrade your account if you wish to use Microsoft Outlook or any other desktop email client.

Can I increase the amount of storage space on my account?

Our standard free service provides 10Mb of storage space.  The amount of space can be increased by purchasing an upgrade; please contact us for more information. 

Can I turn off virus checking?

Absolutely not.  There are no circumstances in which we support the removal of the virus protection from any account on our service.  This is for the protection of email users around the world and is a policy shared by other industry leaders such as Microsoft and Yahoo!

How do I set up a SPAM filter?

You can set up a junk mail folder in your account and instruct the server to move any message flagged as Spam by our filter systems - periodically you should delete the contents of this folder.  Please see the online help system for more information.

How do I use my account and are there any restrictions?

You use your account in exactly the same way as you would use Microsoft Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail.  Our system contains extensive help files and we offer support services to our account holders; log into your account for more information.  You can send and receive email to and from anyone; the I Live In Lanzarote service is a standard email account.  We only ask that you abide by our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.

How do I get a link to my Lanzarote Web Site on your home page?

Ask us!  If your site is relevant to people who live in Lanzarote or to holiday makers and/or visitors to the island, we are happy to include a link to your web site.

Can I refer my site visitors to you?

YES!  We welcome sites wishing to link to us.  Please contact us for suitable banners and link code.
